Subject: 1997 Oscars Hi! As far as the 1997-Oscars-that-should-have-been are concerned, I mostly agree with you. However, I think you are still forgetting one movie that does (in my opinion) outrank TITANIC in yet another category: CONTACT. The movie bei Robert Zemeckis may use Visual Effects in a less dramatic manner than TITANIC, but the effects are much more creative. While the people on TITANIC only re-created a world that once existed, the VFX people on CONTACT had to create a number of things from scratch, and they succeeded.
