Welcome to the SCROOMtimes!

Welcome! You have in your hands... er, computers, the latest issue of the SCROOMtimes. Please use it wisely, and only for good. Thank you!

Well, winter is supposed to be here. Thanksgiving is but a couple of weeks away, and there are only like, 33 shopping days until Christmas!

But you can't tell that around here. The days are still sunny, and mostly pretty warm. It's a little disconcerting... and it seems to be pretty nice everywhere else in the country, too.

But this doesn't stop us here at the SCROOMtimes! Nosirree-bob! We have a fine issue at hand. Fiona Jane is going through the trauma of someone else's wedding. Dean is buried in the most exciting football season of his young life - his Colts are WINNING! Yet Fun & Games sends out a cautious signal... brought on by the failures of his beloved Red Sox.

And of course, Skippy has a few words of wisdom for you, his millions and millions of fans. And we have 3 special features - Ealasaid Haas' review of Fight Club, and two new short stories, by Roy Pickering and Tony Han. Now, longtime readers will remember Tony from his movie reviews in the early days of the 'times, but this is is first shot at fiction. And Roy is a new face around here - let us know what you think about both of these guys!

And, to keep in touch with the times, check out the BackPage, with a musical tribute to the Y2K problem.

And welcome again - we're happy to have you around! But don't keep it to yourself - tell a friend!

By the way, one of our favorite poets, Marie Kazalia has a new book out. You can check her poetry out in our Archives, and you can check her new book out at Phony Lid Publications... check the press release. You can expect more of her work in future issues of the SCROOMtimes, as well! Way to go Marie!
